Daenerys Targaryen’s Dragons name.
When the Game of Thrones book series and the TV series started, we were introduced to three dragons. These three dragons were Drogon, Rhaegal and Viseryon. Not just these three Game of Thrones dragon names had a meaning, they also served a symbolic meaning. Let’s look at the meaning behind their names.
Drogon was named after Khal Drogo, the horse clan leader who was killed in the first season. He was Daenerys’ husband and he was the reason why she became strong and stood up to people oppressing her (her brother, Viseryon). Drogo was the reason she became the Khaleesi. Drogon is the biggest of the three dragons with dreadful black and red scales, it is truly a fierce beast.
Rhaegal was the dragon who died by the Night King and was turned into a wight. He was named after Daenerys’ elder brother, Rhaegar Targaryen.
Viseryon is the third dragon named after Viserys, Danny’s brother. He wasn’t a great person to be with, but family is family after all.
The three dragons had an important symbolic meaning. If you are familiar with the history of Game of Thrones, you must be aware of Aegon the Conquerer. If not, Aegon Targaryen was the first Targaryen to come to Westeros and unite the six kingdoms (Dorne never became a part of the kingdom under his rule). When Aegon can to Westeros, he came with two of his sister/wife (I know, it is a weird this to write). These two were Rhaenys and Visenya. These three were the reason for the Targaryen dynasty.
Similarly, Danny and her three dragons represented these three, conquering Westeros again. This brings us to Aegon and his dragons. Let’s have a look at the Game of Thrones dragons that were not discussed in the Game of Thrones books or the TV series.
The Dragon Trinity
Aegon the Conqueror came along with his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys in three dragons. One, which is the biggest and most dangerous dragon in the history of Westeros, was called Balerion the Black Dread. This dragon was so fierce that it melted the stone castle of Harrenhall with its fire breath. No dragon ever has beaten Balerion. Truly the king of dragons.
Rhaenys and Visenya came on Meraxis and Vhagar. Vhagar was the second biggest dragon, while Meraxis was third.
Unfortunately, during the battle with Dorne, Meraxis was killed along with Rhaenys. These were the three dragons that started the dragon line of Westeros. It is said that there were far more fierce and dangerous dragons in Valyria, the place the dragon lords lived.

Wild Dragon Games

He was asked about what would happen with Balerion, the biggest dragon in Game of Thrones universe would fight with Smaug, the dragon from J.R.R Tolkien’s Hobbit series. He said that Smaug would win because he is a smart dragon. So if someone says that dragons are very intelligent, they aren’t.
How large do dragons grow and how long do they live
Dragons are known to never stop growing. This means that the dragon will keep getting bigger and bigger until it dies. Another factor that affects the growth of the dragon is the environment they live in.
Dragons living freely and in hot environments like near a volcano become the fiercest. The ones birthed and grown in houses in captivity grow up to the size of dogs. The last dragons in Westeros never grew more than small animals. Dragons are wild and free creatures and it is said that the people of Valyria used magic to control the dragons.
Dragons are also known to live for centuries. It is estimated that Balerion was more than 300 years old. It is not known what is the exact lifespan of a dragon, but it also depends on the environment the dragons live in.
